Black Pig Lard

Black pork lard is a typical gastronomic product of Sicilian cuisine, made with quality black pork from animals raised sustainably and fed natural feed. The black pig, or "nero dei Nebrodi," is an indigenous Sicilian breed distinguished by its lean, flavorful meat. Lard is made from pancetta, which is salted and cured for several weeks, giving the product an intense and distinctive aroma and flavor. Sicilian black pork lard is a delicious alternative to traditional lard, and can be used to season pasta, salads or to accompany a good beer or red wine.
